My Business Partner
Our Beautiful Dog Cooper!

Cooper My "Business Partner"
My husband Daniel and I rescued Cooper (Kelpie Cross Wolfhound) in August 2017. He had just turned 2 years of age. While he was very friendly when he first met us, he was nervous to come home with us. I guess it was another upheaval and unknown for him. It did not take him long to feel at home, and he just loves to be with us no matter what we are doing. He now spends everyday with me wandering or lazing in the yard, checking up on me in the shed, alerting me to any visitors. He is ready at a moments notice for any activity, but his absolute favourite is running on the dog beach, and meeting other dog friends. While he does need to work off his energy, he is also very relaxed at home. As a working dog, he does need a job, so because he has been with me from the beginning of this venture, we tell him he is my "Business Partner" and he has never indicated, he is not happy with this title.

"Business Partner" to "Modelling & Branding"
As he is such a handsome boy,  and very photogenic, it made sense to photograph him beside my up-cycled pieces of furniture. Whenever I am looking at design magazines about homes, decor, and interiors, I am always drawn to the family pets, particularly dogs. I am one of those people that believe pets make a home. So when you are viewing my pieces, you can imagine it in your home, with your pet curled up beside it. I want it to create a homely feel for you.

Cooper's Currency for "Modelling & Branding"
He doesn't ask for much, only that you have a good stash of treats, to administer REGULARLY, throughout the shoot. He is becoming quite the pro, where he knows he needs to sit in front of the furniture. However, he is usually not exactly where needed, and needs a little shove to the right area, backed up with a Treat, Good Boy, STAY! Take photo's, while engaging with a few key words he recognises, and followed quickly, by more treats, Good Boy, Stay! If the treats don't come quick enough, he will let you know, as seen in the photo. He's gesturing for another treat! LOL!

Get the job done QUICK! No time for Monotony or Mucking About!
Cooper has no time for monotony. If you throw a ball, he will chase it, and pick it up. He might give it to you, if you ask, but usually he wants you to now try and get it off him. If you do throw it again, he may get it, but he is just as likely to lay down and lose interest, because he's not interested in only chasing the ball, but the challenge of you getting it off him too. Change the game, and he is back in! He is the same with "Modelling" in front of my Furniture Pieces. You have to engage him with treats, affirmation and words he recognises, and shoot the photo's very quickly. Take too long, and he starts to look away, look down, lay down etc. (As you can see in the photo) It's like he is saying "Time Is Money" It' A Wrap! Move On!
